By all accounts the weather this weekend will be perfectly foul - cold, windy, rainy - and it seems to have timed itself with exquisite perfection to arrive as soon as the weekend starts.

What irriates me a little is the way that the weather reporter invariably stands there, beaming from ear to ear, telling us all that our weekend plans are now ruined.

Inside though they must be hurting like the rest of us.

Had to look up "Incongruous". Err, anyway, I'm very grateful for good weather during the week as it makes my commuting a pleasure. Nice weather at the weekend is a bonus... obviously.

Bad weather is usually timed for bank holidays too. Proof that God has a sense of humour ;) .

I think actors should be employed to read the weather forecast. It would make a change if they convincingly burst into tears and tore at their clothing when announcing cold winds and rain in summer. Profuse apologising might be a nice addition.

Perhaps these abilities should be built into the casting audition process?

That would be GREAT! Weather forecasts would then be an attraction rather than just moderately useful.

The reason they are so happy is that they are going to be stuck in the studio doing weather reports all weekend, so it delights them that everyone else has it miserable.

I'm not miserable, if I am out cycling or rowing, I don't want to end up being gently cooked, I'd rather have nice refreshing rain any day!

Forecaster today: "Tomorrow we'll have showers, with dry spells in-between".

Of course there'll be dry spells in-between, that's what "showers" means. "Showers with wet spells in-between" would just be "rain" :cursing:
