I was on the normal commute to work this morning, it normally takes 8 and a half minutes so I don't know if you could class it as a commute. Anyway, its a long uphill followed by a very long downhill. On the uphill I decided to take my stance in the middle of the road due to parked cars on either side. Straight away a car was behind me, within 10 seconds it sounded its horn at me. I couldn't go anywhere.

I decided in spite, to go a little slower and anger them more, after 5 more horn sounds I decided to turn around and politely give them the 2 finger salute (the anger got to me.)

I felt better for that! I got onto the straight, the car pulled alongside me and rolled the window down.

It was my mother.

I've never done that with any other car, it just got to me so much, thinking it was someone driving aggressively. How ironic.

She got a new car last week, live half on at my mums half at my dads. She used to have a Mini which is quite noticable, but the Golf wasn't!

Guess I won't be having any tea made for me after work tonight

I've only ever once done that to someone I know - it was a CC'er after a track session on the wind up. Me on road, not using the farce of a cycle lane near the velodrome, up rolls an open top sports car "get on the cycle lane", I turn shout "Fu............. errrrrrrrrrr hah hah very funny !!!!"

Nearly did the same the other night

Bus passes me a foot away (literally), I pull alongside at bus stop 75 yards in front when it pulls in (so pointless overtake as well as highly dangerous)

Driver turns to look at me and, it being dark, the driver looked just like a First bus driver that is a "pub acquaintance"...so similar in the dark in fact that it was only when he ranted back at me in an English accent rather than Scots that it couldn't have been him

I'd have still given him a bollocking though
