I think you get a much more significant psychological advantage by whistling whilst riding with your colleagues, especially if it's while overtaking them

Today I have made another major step forward. While replacing the handlebar tape I took the time to weigh the plugs that hold it in at the end of the bars. I was shocked to find that the weigh 10g EACH! All plastic ones weigh just 1g - that's a whole 18g saved.
