The episode set in a sleeper train compartment resonated with me. My experiences on the Munich to Paris sleeper train were bizarre though not as extreme as including a murder in the compartment but it did involve being interrogated by plain clothes police men, trying to share the wrong compartment with a couple of young women, my shorts falling down and exposing all and sundry to middle aged women in the correct compartment, being locked out of the correct compartment, being 'rescued' by a bilingual German/Mandarin Chinese speaker acting as a translator for my friend and I who mistakenly thought the occupants of the compartment that we were locked out of were Chinese and finally deciding the the way back to sanity was to finish off the bottles of absinthe that we had. I thought that you couldn't make up such a bizarre set of circumstances until I saw inside number 9.
