Morning all,

Just wondering if any of you have an ideas for an insulated container to carry liquid in. I'm thinking about how to carry milk etc. volume say 500ml max.

I've been looking for something like a child's aluminium drink container with a neoprene cover, but haven't been able to find one.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Not sure if these would keep things cool very long?

......or maybe a slim thermos flask that would slot in your water bootle holder?

If you want to keep it cold I have found Camelbak Podium Big Chill to work a treat even in the hot riding conditions here in Western Australia. I find the Podium will keep frozen water cold for a good two to three hours even temperatures over 30 C.

Depending on where you are travelling, I'd buy milk in the evening and it will be cold enough for breakfast cereal the next morning.

I abandoned liquid milk and went for the powdered stuff. No refrigeration problems ensued.

I agree that powdered milk is practical. But I can't stand the taste of it, and makes a rubbish cup of tea :-)

Thinking of an ultimate thermos 500ml seems to get good reviews, will be useful off the bike too when out walking.

It's 74mm diameter which is close to the bottle holder, so hopeful it will fit that.

Tesco sometimes do an all steel flask that exactly fits a standard bottle cage. I have one bought about 6 years ago that was bought to replace an earlier one that got too dented to use after 5 or 6 years use. I no longer commute to work having seen the light and retired so this one is still in good nick.

I have been reading about the thermos ultimate and have decided that what I'm after really must perform or there's no point having it. So it's the thermos that I've got my eye on. It's in my amazon basket hoping for a price drop before I actually need it :-)

Just one question, does it fit in a bottle cage? The 500ml one. I don't plan to carry on the bike - will expose to sunshine (I wish) but it would be a bonus occasionally if it did.
