Hey guys,

Who here has Insurance for their bike?

I just recently got me a new bike which cost £280,I know its not considered "Expensive" compared to what some of you may have here but i thought about getting it insured so if it gets nicked or anything im covered.
Any recommendations on companies in the UK and are cheap?

I did on my old one, not got round to doing it on my new bike. I used ETA (http://www.eta.co.uk/breakdown/bicycle), they're pretty cheap, offer a free breakdown service, and they give you 10% off if you pay by direct debit.

My dad got household insurance to cover all the bikes in the house. (Mum's, Dad's, Brother's, Mine) Dont think that was too expensive. Dont know who he did it with so cannot help you there.

My bikes are on home insurance. The road bike is a named item, the Specialized not as was under £500 - I have 'away from home' cover for both

Best check what the excess may be if you did need to claim - could well be more than the bike is worth
