From Killin I would take route7 on the other side of Loch Tay to Kenmore.

I'll be travelling south - do you mean double back to Kenmore and go to Killin on the south road, rather than the north road?
Yes, I would No need to double back just carry on to Comrie Castle and lane to Kenmore.
I’ve ridden the A827 20 years ago but there is more fast moving traffic now. I was up there last week and saw a couple of cyclists on it but the other side is super quiet.

Alternatively go up Glen Lyon and either over the Ben Lawers road or continue further up the glen to Loch Lyon and over the hill to Glen Lochay.
I would go that way in preference to the south Loch Tay road.

If you mean still via Fortingall then they add both distance and elevation which is what I was trying to avoid, but I'll see how my legs are on the day, they look like nice roads and I think I've driven over the Ben Lawers road before.

Good route. I've done most of it. Concur with @OldShep that the south shore road on Loch Tay is far superior.

I would avoid the A811 between Kippen/Buchylvie, it's an arterial road and the traffic is fast and constant.

Your options to get round it without adding elevation are somewhat limited - as is your ability to get through the valley between the Campsies and the Kilpatrick Hills without encountering heavy traffic. The A81 that your route follows is probably a safer bet than the A809, but I've seen both roads be perfectly fine on one occasion yet horrendously busy another time.

I've been warned off the Port Of Menteith Road before but would you say that's quieter than the A811? These things are all relative though, I'm used to cycling on most of the main roads around Glasgow so traffic doesn't really bother me too much, especially as this is the last day and I'll just be wanting to get home hence trying to avoid the Duke's Pass/Crow Road if I can manage it.

I too would warn against the Port of Menteith Road. Since you're keen on avoiding both the Duke's Pass and the Crow Road, I'd go straight through at Kippen and follow the B822, there's an unclassified single track farm road about three-quarters of the way down the Fintry road that will take you towards Balfron, before you take another unclassified road to join the B818 as per https://goo.gl/maps/biKAr2F69nheP3mN7

Cuts out as much of the fast traffic as possible, rejoins the A81 at Glengoyne Distillery.

Sneaky, I'd never have thought of that, thanks.

If you don't insist on tarmac, you can go on decent to good forest & estate tracks from Luiblea (near Moy Lodge at the S end of Loch Laggan) to Ossian Youth Hostel & Corrour station, then onwards to the road just E of Rannoch station. You may also be able to cross the Laggan Dam, which would make it a little shorter.
The track between Corrour and Rannoch stations is fairly new, and isn't on most OS maps yet. It goes via Peter's Rock and Corrour Old Lodge (ruin).

That looks interesting - do you know how those surfaces compare to the worst of the Killin/Callander path?

edit - @andrew_s is the edit I made to the route linked above basically the route you described?
