Has anyone heard of a Bloc bottled beer?

It's already on sale in a limited way, but the brand owners are looking to crowd fund an expansion to the tune of 250,000 euro.

The investment looks complicated to me, an interest bearing convertible into shares loan.

The beer itself has 'added minerals to aid recovery'.

Not sure alcohol - even with added minerals - can be a recovery drink, but I suppose lots of us enjoy a glass or two of beer after a ride.

What do the beer connoisseurs/investment gurus on here think?

It might possibly aid recovery but it may also be snake oil. Personally I normally get a couple of tins of the cheapest stuff I can find in the corner shop, normally Lech, although sometimes I do treat myself to a can of Special Brew both during and post ride.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Oh dear. It does sound a bit like they are trying to cash in on crowd funding and people's gullibility to fund anything and to believe any rubbish they are told. Added minerals? Mmmm. Thanks but no thanks. I'd rather have a gin & tonic..:okay: or vodka..

Beer gels, with amphetamines in, for during the ride?
How do I start this crowd funding thing? Anyone want to throw a tenner in?

No I've not heard of them.

Investing is about making money, so ask yourself:

1. Can I afford to commit this money?
2. What do I understand about the business and industry it is competing in?
3. Would I be better off investing elsewhere?

Snap answers: yes, nothing, and yes.

Am I missing something? Bloc beer can be from any brewery anywhere, but with added "minerals"? Don't other 3rd party businesses (& the Brewery's) already sell over capacity 500ml beers at £1-£1.50 in shops under names like "Hammered", obviously these are without the crucial mineral health enhancers?

Bag of bollox.

PS. I was in Bargain Homes today and 500ml San Miguel was £1.29, craft beers like HobgoblinWitchesFanny and such £1.29, other beers were £1, I think I will buy these and some .99p multivitamins.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Our resident Dutch-resident beer expert @DP might have heard of them, since they claim to have been going in the Netherlands for a while.

The company appears to consist of a recipe (including magic Alpine Minerals - whatever they are) for an unfiltered lager, plus a brand and a whizzy website. They outsource brewing, so it probably doesn't really qualify as a craft beer. 7% is quite a high return, which, if it's been priced properly, means there's a decent chance of losing your money.

Couple of bombs of speed, followed by an easy 500km and then maybe LEJOG. All in a days work.
