probably not.

Have you got it synced via Me or anything?

Why is there a problem? Maybe using a work computer without itunes?

If so, my advice would be export from whatever your main itunes computer is to a csv file or suchlike, then import that file on the itunesfree pc

Does that help? ;)

There's irony

Thanks all

I have a 2nd hand iPhone that I've bought off the boss for my Wifes Christmas present.
He hasn't had time to take all the contacts off, and wants them emailed to him.
I don't want to try and sync at home because it will probably bugger something up with my itunes account (and I have no end of problems with that ) so was wondering if there was an easy way to do it that didn't involve me sitting here for a couple of hours typing them all out manually.

I'll put my sim card in the phone and try and find that app on there and do it through that.

Does your iTunes account have contacts attached to it (from your personal outlook/contacts account)? If it doesn't then all will be ok, you'll just get a list of his contacts on your pc, but if it does it'll synch your contacts to his phone and his contacts to your contacts list which will be a nightmare figuring out what's what.

When you sync you can also choose if contacts are synched and which account they're synched to (ie. outlook contacts, googlemail contacts, yahoomail contacts etc) but you have to make sure that "auto synch iPhone when connected" isn't set. I don't think that option appears unless you connect the iPhone first though, which is annoying.

If he's on 02 they have something called a bluebook I think it is. Have a look on the 02 website and see what that's about as I think that's a way of storing his contacts. Then he can just go online and pick them up from there or you'll be able to export the details across to him.

I hope that makes sense and helps? Let me know if you need any parts of my whitterings translated though.

Thanks for that, it's extremely helpful.

No, I don't have contacts synced but everything else is. I just assumed it would try to overwrite all my albums etc if I did that.
I'll look into that bluebook once I finish work and see what the best option is although it sounds as if a straighforward sync will be.

Thanks again

It shouldn't try to overwrite your albums as iTunes is the primary package here. It will remove any songs and downloads already on the iPhone though. iTunes generally pushes everything to the iPhone and overwrites what's on there already. It's a talker, not a listener (which is why they say that phones are feminine????)

But to be on the safe side, look into the bluebook first regarding the contacts. I'm sure it's free and it's a total backup for you to give your boss which will be much easier sending a link to your boss rather than having to work out how to email all those contacts across.

Bluebook looks fantastic, and I duly registered only to discover that it isn't compatible with iPhone, believe it or not!

I'll try the sync this evening and see how that works out.
Thanks again for your help :becool:
