Objections are great. In a nearby town the residents objected to a supermarket being built on a brownfield site. Too much traffic, they said, although it seems the objectors are quite happy to add to traffic in other peoples towns themselves when they go shopping.

So there was no supermarket. Instead, they got 300 new houses, and more traffic, crime and bad parking than the small supermarket would ever have brought, and they're moaning about that instead.

Stupid idea, I cannot see who will pay to ride on a train such a short distance, just leave it alone.
Presumably they'd have to connect it to the rest of the network, unless it's one of those tiny toy trains.

Living in a university town, there's been an awful lot of student accommodation built in recent years, and the locals always moan about it... complaining that housing should be provided for locals instead. A few weeks ago, proposals for a handful of new housing developments (for locals) were reported... and guess what?
