Seemed pretty grounded when I stopped him for a photo at the ToB start. He was last man to sign on could have told me no without causing offence.

What is the evidence for his arrogance? All top sportsmen have a confidence in their ability otherwise you'd never have the motivation to train so hard.

ps. I hope he performs well today in the TT but I can't see him winning it

I think he is just very 'matter of fact' he's a great athlete and all of them are over confident, espesh for TV.

ha ha! Glad I voted before viewing the poll results otherwise I may not have been true to myself. He's always seemed a bit too confident to me.

He is confident, he is a world class cyclist, he comes across a all round guy who is trying to put his view point across.

Is there a particular interview or something that is being referred to? Personally, I've always found DM to be forthright and articulate but not what I'd call "up himself" in any way. He bangs a drum a bit (okay, a lot!) but that's because he's passionate about that subject.
