Is it just me or are DB telesales dreadfully slow?

This evening I booked the outward leg of the train journey for my summer tour.

Online booking for Leeds-London with bikes painless and surprisingly cheap @ £13

Booking Eurostar - a bit of a faff. Have to check that there's bike spaces available on the desired train before purchasing tickets for the train and then ringing the luggage company to reserve bike spaces.

DB - can't online book the City Nightline Service with bikes so had to ring their call centre - I had all of the details to hand: dates, times, names (me and a pal) and credit card details and the process prceeded at a snails pace taking twenty five minutes at £0.08 per mnute on the phone. It isn't a one off. I had to endure a long procedure with them last year too.

Is this typical?

@8p per minute £4.80 per hour it will not cover their costs so either you got a poor agent or the call centre is off-shore and they are using it as a revenue stream

They aren't particularly speedy when dealing with you face to face in "The Fatherland' either. I recall being in a queue of four people and waiting for nearly three quarters of an hour before getting served. I don't think that the service is offshore. I think it's London based and staffed by Germans.
