Funny how, a 100 years on, some of the designs haven't changed at all, probably not as well made though.

Love those old-fashioned handlebars in the Spalding's guide (best example of what I mean = on p 42). And have a look at the fella on p 44... like an early version of Chuffy's dress habits! ;) )

To be honest, I think the handlebars and grips are just sculpturally beautiful. I'd buy them even just to have on the mantelpiece. And - apologies to all of you who actually know stuff about bikes - but I'd give an arm and a leg for rhe "dress guards".

The quality of the technical drawing in the catalogue - to me it's just staggering.
