IAAF Vice-president for how long? And he didn't know?
Claims a declaration of war on his sport when the media out the doping...
Volte face once WADA report confirms every word, and more, of the media's findings?

Must be galling to find out 'his' Olympics were sabotaged.

Should he stand down having made a complete daffodil of himself?

It's ridiculous. If he was at the top of a major corporation he would have lost his position by now, just to keep the shareholders happy.

If he was only involved for a couple of Meetings a year, over 8 years, then what was his purpose as vice-president?

Smoother than greased weasel sh*t, a self serving smarmy tory politician. Do I trust him? Do I hell. This is the man who receives in the region of £100,000 per annum to be an ambassador for Nike, HQ of which is in Oregon, which coincidentally was awarded the World Championship Athletics in 2021 [Eugene Oregon]. Martin Rooney, GB team captain also does not think he is fit to head IAAF.

I'd say give him three months to get actions under way. If there is a genuine attempt to hunt out all cheats and a change to the monitoring regime then fine. If we get a FIFA style internal, non binding review then he has to step aside.

This is the reason why concentrating on Armstrong was detrimental

There was a much wider issue, but by allowing it to concentrate on one person the problem was "solved"... Limited to one sport and one individual being in the Dock

Let's not make the same mistake again

Concentrating on Coe, the Russians or any other individual or group runs the risk of a similar closing down of the investigations to a small group

What we need is to open our eyes and have an independent multi-sport investigation across ALL sports - this is an opportunity we should not miss

There's a fair few posts on this in the Doping in other sports thread but to summarise, he needs to go.

Highly competent reformers don’t end up in senior management positions in corrupted organisations. Either you know it’s going on and are therefore complicit. Or you don’t and are unfit to fix it. There is no realistic middle ground here.

He's been vice-pres at IAAF for 8 years.

He did that several years ago but still is in the public eye. Even more surprising is the noise he made about the Rio Ferdinand missed test affair and called for lifetime bans yet he doesn't seem to think there is a problem in athletics.
