is there a market for used Brooks saddles?

A very quick ebay search tell me that they sell for between £15 and £40 dependant upon condition.

The market is very strong.

Used B17's in very good nick go for around £40- 45 - a bit more if it's a B17 Champion Special with copper rivets etc

Almost all Brooks leather saddles sell very well on eBay.... even tatty old ones can fetch £25-£30

yes they are well sort after just got one last week on ctc forum got in first lucky to as he was just down the road from me so was able to pick it up he had 45 ppl after it .....any pics paul might be interested as a spare if you dont get on with it ...

So can a used Brooks saddle be re-shaped to fit the new owner? I thought the whole point of buying a Brooks was to shape it to your derrier by riding it - lots, I mean if you have narrow sit bones and wear in your saddle then sell it, how would it be any use to anyone else unless they also had a backside shaped just like yours.
I have just got a new Brooks Swift and am loving it already.

They don't change shape to match your shape. The comfort is in the flex and the longer you use them the more flex you get. Hence the reason that they have a bolt for tightening them up if the flex gets too flexy.

I have second hand ones on 3 of my bikes with no problem. I believe that the widely held view that the wear to fit the bum of the user is a fallacy, as has been already said, they just break in and "one bum is as good as another" ( or so I'm told )

i have b17s on two bikes and they are very comfy, if a little squeeky sometimes. they might look a bit incongruous on a carbon bling bike, but anything steel, titanium or aluminium will suit them fine.

There is a website somewhere that can help you 'age' your Brooks, depending on logo, rivets, rails etc.
I do wonder if the one i sold on ebay was older or more somehow rarer than most...it went for £70, and the condition was just 'ok'. I never expected it to go for that. Either that or i just got lucky , or the Japanese guy i sold it to had more money than sense

I sold a nearly new Swift and got more than the new price! Went back to using B17s one of which was 2nd hand and just fine for me.
