See the attached pics. My son was complaining of movement in his l/h crank. When i took it off i found this, about half the ball bearings have disappeared. There is a metal ring and a plastic one that are knackered. The crankset is a dura ace 7900/7950. Is this a shimano hollowset with a cartridge bearing that has collapsed?

A bit of WD40 and a whack with a hammer and it'll be fine .. that's just not collapsed it's destroyed
