I always look forward to getting 21st December over with, but the snag is that it continues getting darker in the mornings (where you notice it most) for a week or so afterwards.

It's not going to be the same as last spring though is it where the mornings got longer quicker than the evening? Somebody did try to explain it but I still don't see how a day can get longer quicker at one end than it does at the other.

I celebrate the winter solstice instead of Christmas. It is a good time to begin looking forwards to the new year as the Sun stops getting closer to the horizon and regains its strength to bring forth new growth.
