It was only bits and bobs of sleet when I set out this morning....

eek indeed...

Had a little flurry about an hour ago. It hasn't settled though. the roads look wet, not icy. I hope it stays this way, I have work later.

Wow. At my end of Herts (Chorleywood-ish), it was snowing before I got to the orifice at about 8:30 and it only stopped about 90 minutes ago. Nothing settled, even though it was snowing quite hard.

It did make me glad that I popped my commuting cherry last week, I felt little guilt getting into the car today. :becool:

I was just about to leave this morning, Head out the door into a blizzard. Pop back in to put on waterproofs back out and it was gone.
Mighty chilly though this evening, had to put on an extra layer.

Hmmph. Living up to the southern softie stereotype I see.

Abso-bloody-lutely

That was a grim ride home too actually.
The wind was pretty strong, and where it was hammering across the fields, it had pushed the snow over the road and was then intent on waggling my bike as hard as it could every time I crossed the drifting snow.
Coupled with the headwind, heavy hail and the stupidly close passes by drivers I must admit I didn't enjoy it too much....

A few miles from home, the shifters started playing up. I found out why when I got home, the cables had frozen solid.

Still, just another day in the life of a Southern cycle commuter

We had steady snow in the fens today (I couldn't make out the ducking stool or the villages' wicker man from my kitchen window, most distressing ) but nothing settled. A few small flakes flashed into the beam from the Enduro 8 in the way to work tonight but nothing solid as yet.
Headwind on the way home though

Was sleeting most of the day but roads just looked wet so decided to cycle home from work, really glad I did as was an ace ride home.
Normally I end up too hot as I bundle right up but was just right tonight, cold toes but otherwise fine and very little wind.
