I don't have anybody on ignore but I believe you get a message saying the ignoree has posted but not what they've posted. (I may have experimented with this on another forum....)

What's the point? The message will just remind you of who you want to ignore!
What if they are prolific posters? You would have messages galore bearing the forum name you don't want to read
