I arrived back home mud splattered from all the melting slush - forgot that the mtb 'guards aren't full length. If I'd reduced my speed a bit, might have got away with it.

Came to work in a nice line in polkadot Altura Nevis today!

Aye, graidly, indeed.

It was a bit chilly riding home last night, and to the lad jogging along Terry Avenue "For god's sake, put something with sleeves on!"

I got humungously wet last night. My rucksack has a waterproof cover but it was sodden by the time I got home. Every bit of me was damp. xx(

Yep I had that as well last night. It is times like this that you realise waterproof clothing is not monsoon proof

I don't even bother with waterproofs anymore.
I have a windproof jacket, winter longs and longsleeve baselayers and thermal socks to keep me warm. I'm going to get wet from sweat anyway so why be uncomfortable in waterproofs.

A nice hot shower at either end of the commute does help though.

I've no objections at all to the mighty Nigthtvision top, it lets me wear just a single layer under it and I like the hi viz angle, it's also very snuggly first thing as it's so wind proof

and core dry and warm always works for me, otherwise, yeah, overshoes, boots and merino socks meant my feet were merely damp rather than awash

Yeah, it was pretty chilly last night...

I've learned the hard way that -2 and snowing is much more comfortable than +1 and raining! .... and traffic jams have lots of nice warm exhaust and heat coming off the cars

How much does it cost to Oldham?
Quit complaining- I've been in the car under duress for the last ten days!

What a day! In London it has been raining continuously since 05:15, and it's still falling hard.
OK, going one way in a mix of traffic and rain is one thing, but to return in the miserable flooded road gloom after a whole day of rain is the pits.
No primary space as most of the roads have spreading puddles - more like rivers in the sloping parts - and unkind motorists splashing through other water laying across the roads. No escape - you just get washed!
Braking capability for my (non-disc) brakes was minimal at times, the drain covers became danger zones (where they were not submerged) and the stainless steel studs marking road crossings here need careful negotiation.
Be careful be careful be careful!
But I do apologise to the Post Office van driver who pulled out in front of me between the Marylebone and Edgware Roads. I nearly delivered myself into the back of his van via the side and shouted (politely) "What are you doing - you idiot?" He wound down the window and equally politely said "Sorry mate - I was looking at the other car, I do apologise..." Said with such humility that I regretted shouting at him. Lessons learned eh?
Anyway - soaked in most parts save for the Altura Night Vision protected parts  The same waterproof gloves are OK on the inside too, but the shoe covers didn't stand a chance with all the bathing they took.
And it was cold too.
Latest forecast is that the rain is set to get heavier then turn to sleet.
No wonder you lot in the North are so miserable...

Yeah! "Training" on KFC and Starbucks whilst ripping off helping wanton souls go round in circles arrive promptly at their destination. Then limping indoors at the end of the day because the Dial A Cab wallet is weighing you down.

My heart bleeds for you gezza!
