Why don't folk just come on out with it. It's that bl**dy magnatom dragging the forum into the gutter. His riding is shocking, his attitude is shocking and his squeaky Glaswegian voice is shocking. I wish that oil tanker had run him over.....

Oh wait, that last bit belongs to my youtube comments, not here!

(P.S. I know I've been quiet recently, various reasons, but if I get a chance today I'll post another one. My first repeat offender. Then I'm off to Boston for 2 weeks on Thursday. It'll be quiet again for a while!)

I was just beginning to wonder why there'd been a lack of girly screaming on CC for a while!

Seriously though, good to see you back (even if it is briefly).

The commuting section in CC BR is among the very best, populated by by the very best London and Home Counties cyclists[/quote]

That's the correct response. At least there are a few more folk who don't live in the big stink on CC.

The commuting forum is probably the one that I visit the most regularly. I think that's because most of my cycling is through my commute - if I was planning to do a LEJOG that's where I'd be more-so!

I'd also like to chip in and suggest that the repetitive nature of commutes can make them a little boring/negative. Many people ride their older bikes on a commute, and 5 days a week in rush-hour is never going to compete with a lovely cycle across country on your favourite bike with some choice chums.

Not wanting to be misunderstood, cycle-commuting has greatly improved my commute and I'm enjoying it and the sense of satisfaction it gives me. However, when slogging up that hill for the 5th time that week, occasionally it's easy to feel just a little grey. That's why I often vary my route so I rarely do the same one more than a couple of days running - variety is the spice and all that...

And finally, whilst I don't always agree with all the videos I see, they're definitely one of the more interesting parts of the forum.

I remember a while ago i posted the same thread on BR and here. Here i got some great responses, everyone very chilled out and polite to each other (even when it does kick off a bit here it's civilised in comparison) But over on the thread in BR, i got people accusing me of being this that and the other and being very aggressive. I rarely post a new topic over there and occasionally through my two pence in.

I find the users are more up them selfs and they think that anyone they don't know personally doesn't know anything about cycling.

I don't think there is much benefit in running down the individuals (and they are individuals, however much Gaz would like to homogenise them) who post on another board on CC, any more than there was any merit in deriding CC on another board.

There's enough boards and enough cyclists for people to choose the one they want for the reasons they want.

IMO.

Dark mornings/nights?

No, I have video's of incidents in the dark, just not worthy of putting them on CC.
Plus twilight time is almost making my dark commutes history for this year especially with clear skies.
