I got caught in the first wave last night.
Just a few spots of rain as I left so no need for a jacket. Then about a mile down the road it started to rain a bit heavier, still not too bad.
Then about 5 miles into my ride the heavens opened and it all came down. Hailstones were bouncing off my helmet, which actually hurt a little. I saw a few cyclists huddled under a bridge with their full rain gear on, me in my shorts and SS jersey just carried on.
Luckily it only lasted about 10 mins, as I think I was riding against it, then it all cleared up and the sun came out and dried me and my bike.
I quite enjoyed in and I did my 20 mile commute (usually 7 miles) in my fastest time

I went to change and the weather was nice, got the bike out and saw the thunderheads homing in. Gave me a real slap about for about 10 mins but fortunately it was travelling fast and I was cycling away from it. Rest of the ride was fine, once I'd dried out a bit and gotten over the shock. Recorded one of my slowest times home in ages, nearly getting blown backwards can have that effect
