Last night was a lovely evening for cycling, so i though. So I decided to take the longer route home from Warton to Cleveleys, along Lytham, St Annes and Blackpool front.
I was just starting to experience a tail wind and get a lick on as I hit heavy traffic along Blackpool front, as it was a bit tight to get through between the traffic and the kerb I moved with the flow of the traffic.
As I had a tail wind and I was going down hill towards the Bispham, I was doing a steady 25mph, but as we all know 25 is not 30mph, so this annoys most car drivers who want get home that little bit quicker!
This dumb woman in her Aygo decides to overtake at the worst possible moment, trapping me between her and the kerb I have no where to go but into a perfectly positioned grand canyon sized grid. The jolt nearly spat me off the bike (my wrists still ache) and my front tyre went flat instantly.
I spent 20 mins on the promenade rpelacing the inner tube, and trying to inflate it with my tiny pump, cursing her stupid driving.
Although it was nice weather and i didnt mind the rest, the sweat on my body was now making me cold.
However as I was finishing up, a nice fellow cycle commuter stopped to ask if I was OK and did i need anything, If he is a memeber on here I'd just like to say thankyou! You reasssured my faith in humanity yesterday evening. And you also gave me an idea to store my rolled up rain jacket in the spare bottle cage. So thanks.
