I've got myself a kilt.

My kilt got it's first major public airing last weekend at the big session festival.

I couldn't believe the attention that I got from fellow festival goers:

I had a rip roaring time at the Big Session festival in Leicester and was impressed with the city itself. The festival was about a mile or so from the city centre and was connected to it by a pedestrian walkway lined with fantastic georgian town houses. I'll be going back for more next year.

I met another Vernon known as 'Big Vern' by his friends until they met me. Now known, much to his chagrin, as 'Little Vern'

The weekend was a hoot. My wife abandoned me once the scrumpy took hold on Saturday evening - it was in her best interests - I'd done amazingly well to exercise restraint until then



There's three major outings due over the next three weeks.

A colleague and I will be wearing kilts for the staff training days at school next week. Then there's the school prom where I'll be more formally attired and a black tie ball at a minor public school in North Yorks.

Oh and a wild weekend in Whitby - that makes four outings...
