To use the loft to house a model railway :wahhey:

No immediate action as I am busy with other things but it could lead to the construction of my O gauge locomotive kits some time in the not too distant future.

You are all welcome to play.

The dilemma that I have is whether to go for an extensive full loft approach with some detail sacrificed or a compact high detail exhibition quality layout. I have been accumulating resources for decades and now that the time has come it's indecision time
Do you like fiddling, or watching fast-moving trains?
I do like fiddling. Long freight trains and ten coach passenger trains are very expensive but spectacular.

Here for rides.

A long time ago I once built a long replica of a stretch of East Coast mainline, in my parents loft, just for the joy of running long rakes. Ruddy N gauge engines of the day couldn't actually haul a full length seven/eight coach train and I had to botch a powered carriage...

Mr Yoyo uses the whole loft in our house. Has O gauge steam and is modelling Leeds Station in the 50s. WE also have the wherewithal for a garden railway but it is currently in the conservatory

Nothing will materialise this year.

I will be looking at my reference resources with a view to producing some building drawings to be fed to a laser cutter at work to speed up the scenery construction process.

Baseboards and stuff will have to wait until I clear space in my shed to set up a jig to cut the joints and assemble a set of boards once I determine how big a layout I am going for.
