Nice one
Having been unemployed for nearly a year back in the early 90's, I know how demoralising it can be. So well done mate and a cracking commute too.

I feel like David Brent. I have just been promoted to office manager and at the same time had to tell 3 people they were being made redundant. ;)

Is that shag pile carpet in a wetroom?

Yes it is, but hey, I'm not complaining.
Guess what too. No one else in the building uses the shower. I have it all to myself.

Congrats, its not nice on the dole. My old company is losing 20 drivers soon through loss of contracts with the council, looks like things are getting bad, thats never been known here.

Out of interest, what did you do for those 3 months? I hope you were doing a lot of cycling because I would be

Will,

Yes I did a lot of cycling. I ordered my new bike two weeks before losing my job and it came two weeks after (despite the price tag my gorgeous wife allowed me to follow the order through).
I used to ride past my old factory nearly everyday and wave to the bloke who sacked me.

I also spent a huge amount of time in front of the pc looking for jobs. The job centre was a joke and I had a fortnightly interview with "the computer say's no!". All for the grand sum of £60.50 per week JSA.

My new job is a result of networking with people who I had contact with previously. I made a list of everyone I knew and wrote to them explaining my predicament and asking if they had any opportunities available. I would strongly recommend this course of action to anyone who has just lost their job.

Cheers

Paul

Well done m8, sounds like you deserve it.

Backs up what I heard the other day : "Try hard enough and make yourself as employable as possible, you will get employed"
