It was good, great music and quite gripping for a film in which the hero goes nowhere. It ends with some shots of the real Aaron Ralston and you realise how well Danny Boyle cast him.

The amputation scene is quick and not too gory.

i might take my mum to see it, although after the amount of gore i subjected her to when i took her to see Piranha 3D i doubt she will ever trust me to pick a film again.

Just seen it and whilst I thought it was really well made with some fantastic cinematography it didn't quite make it into the 'excellent' category for me. Perhaps I was spoilt by watching touching the void (similarly about survival in very tough circumstances) Which I thought was amazing. I agree with the post above re casting - James Franco is really spot-on as Aron Ralston and it is very well acted.
