You could go on like that forever.
11 million tourists pass through there every 12 months. It used to be a horrible place to be, it's now nice. There's a lot to be said for that in my opinion.
We cant have our cake and eat it. It couldn't just magic itself into a workable place with no money or time invested. The area is now better. The cafes, bars and restaurants around there have stepped up their game, they're trading better, there are more of them, full more of the time, employing people.
You can't just consider the fact that it cost X and we could have bought Y for that. There are many positive externalities that we can throw in.
