A few motorcycle manufactureres have used belt drive for a while now
and they hold up for a long time.........I think that we will see more of hese in the future.

I agree. Especially on touring bikes.

Note the comments at the end with someone asking how to change a belt when it's continuous and passes through the frame ;)

It also got an eccentric bottom bracket to keep the belt at the correct tension...

I used to own a Kawisaki GPZ 305 motor cycle, that was belt driven it worked fine, it felt smooth compered to the usual chain driven bikes that i,d owned previously. I had it two years and the belt was still in good nick when i sold it.
