Jamis Allegro Sport 2016

Hi all,
Thinking of getting the wife a bike fir her bday soon. Main uses would be country rides to pubs etc, canal paths in the hope she might then want to join me on some future tours.
Don't want to spend lots in case she doesn't get the bug so was thinking of this:

Your link doesn't seem to work for me, just goes to the Evans home page, but found it. Looks really nice, great colour and perfect for the uses you describe

On that basis, take her to Evans, let her have a couple of test rides on bikes that she likes the look of (Evans make testing very simple, just need photo ID and a bank card) and buy the one she prefers. I realise that takes away any element of surprise but bike look and feel are personal so she needs to choose

Then take her for lunch

Could you fit a rear rack to it?

Thanks guys, it looks like it takes a rack front and back - although I'm pretty sure I'd end up carrying everything anyway! Might look to upgrade mine too. Weirdly, it was you Vickster who suggested i get my current bike (Spec Sirrus comp) and you Steve who I saw post about your bike on another thread and I really like the look of it and want that one! Bit bizarre!
However, i really need to think as i use my bike to keep fit mainly but have loved touring. Perhaps i get a road bike then sell my bike after the summer and put the cash towards the tourer nearer xmas/NY.
