I have it on DVD also and I have to say it's one of my top ten animations. By turn funny and sad, I dont think there is one word spoken all the way through it but you dont miss it at all. The scene with the pedalo on the ocean is stunning. If you havent seen it before you are in for a real treat. The cinema/ gambling scene has since been ripped off by a 118118 advert.

I love the dog!
We watched it on television some years ago, at recommendation of brother in law, and enjoyed it.
I put it on my Amazon wishlist last November, and said brother in law bought it for me for Xmas. Though it did confuse him, as the DVD was under the American title of "The Triplets of Belleville".
Watched it again, my husband didn't remember it at all and really enjoyed it all over again. As did I, having remembered only the basic plot ish, and the dog!

The film seems to divide opinion the same way as the book French Revolutions does. For ages, I'd only heard people say how good it (French Revolutions) was. Then on holiday this year, I found that half our group of 8 hated it, and I've since found out that a colleague at work doesn't exactly hate it, but is irritated by it. Whereas I'd recommend it to anyone.
