We have just got back from taking Little-un to a five a side party.............
We assumed protocol was the same as most parties for 7 year olds...drop child off then go to pub for a drink and bar meal... But no this was different, it was suggested by the party 'Referee' that the parents stay as emotions and tiredness can kick in and they get tearful children. So we stayed and after the first half five aside for the children.... He suggested a game of parents verses Children....
Arrgggghhh I haven't played 'a game' of football since my teens... so we all got stuck in....
I scored a goal!!!! after two laps of the pitch in celebration... it was suggested that my behaviour was a bit O.T.T for a goal scored against an 8 year old girl goal keeper.... Nonsense it was a competitive goal and I'm claiming it!!!!!
Mrs V scored 2 and was trying for the hat-trick when the final whistle blew..... the score 5-5 and I haven't been as knackn***d in years (even after a 30 mile bike ride).....
Great fun though and there was far too much pizza bought in for the kids
