Don't go to them for car/van insurance.
I'm 60, clean licence, maximum no claims, ordinary Transit van......£960. I asked the guy if he was joking.

I got it for less than half that.

I'm sure they must pick up very lucrative contracts just because people THINK they are doing older drivers a good deal. Bunch of sharks.

[saga....]

Yup, useless for car insurance. When someone trashed my car, parked off road, the other side of the pavement on a straight road, they were less than helpful. Then, when some opportunist car merchant stole it, I reported it as stolen. They offered a pitiable amount. So (slight exaggeration, as I'd already reported it damaged to them, I had to go through the ritual ''always serviced, looked after, good condition'' spiel. ''I'll have to speak to my manager'' she said - no, you don't have to, you're just going to do nothing for a couple of minutes or so and then pluck a larger figure out of the air - and they settled) To this day, over 3 years later, they're still sending me mail offering to insure the very same car.

Incompetent sharks...
