Coming home, down Rawcliffe Lane, there was, as always a tailback where it meets the A19. As oftne happens, a driver a couple of cars ahead of me (I waited in the queue, as there isn't really room to filter on either side), decided that he didn't want to wait, and did a three point turn to come back the other way (I never know why - the alternative is bound to be just as jammed).

As he came back past me, I noticed that the car was a Smart car, and he was a great big fat bloke. He was virtually squashed up against the window!

Made me smile.

he was driving a smart car and had to do a 3 point turn???? i thought those things turned on a penny??? probably underestimated the size of the car, and was thinking of his own size.

Yeah, he made quite a meal of it. That may be explained... As he did the final part of the turn (which seemed to be taking some time), there was a hoot, and someone shouted something that sounded like "get off the phone!". I didn't see him on the phone, but he seems a likely candidate, given the ineptness of the turn.

It is funny when you see it. We had a neighbour who must have wieghed 20 stone..easily. He drove....a Fiat 500

It was a real struggle for him to get in it. He scrapped it after someone tipped the whole car on it's side one night.
