Using a pressure washer to blast the mud out of semi-knobbly tyres on my wife's hybrid. By lifting the wheel off the ground the water accelerated the wheel to an indicated 85 mph:biggrin:

Bearings were humming a bit - kept the water jet well away from them and the gears - but it was surprisingly stable.

My tyres, being a smoother tread, wouldn't pull more than about 65 mph:sad:

That's nothing, I've even done 99 mph while standing still :welcome:

I regularly see around 109mph on a regular run on my QNT recumbent trike. As I normally top out just over 30mph and have never been over 48mph elsewhere there must be some outside source triggering my wireless computer on the regular run.

Don't jetwash your bikes - the water finds its way into the bearings and the next thing you know, you're buying new wheels, headsets and bottom brackets all the time.
