I'm not following you. (Old ones are the best )

If you click on the said persons page you wish to block there will be a gear cog looking symbol on the right hand side. If you click that it will give you numerous options of block report pm mute etc.

image.png Should look like that .

Find some local cyclists to you to follow... It works reasonably well to spread information, for example yesterday I learned about a survey the University are carrying out about Shared spaces, that the council were gritting the cycle paths overnight, and that at least 2 caravans have moved onto the Bristol and Bath cycle path yesterday!

When you find someone to follow, look who they are following. That can be really useful in finding relevant people to follow.

I've been a huge fan of Twitter for years. It helped me promote my blog when I had one. Nowadays it's a useful news aggregator and a fun way of interacting with people who have the same interests, be they cycling, music, films or whatever.
You will get followed by a lot of randoms. When I get a new follower I check their timeline. If it's all links to web pages, pictures and animations but no actual interaction with other users I don't bother following them back. If their agenda is obvious and I don't like it (porn to name but one example) I block them. You can use the privacy setting if you want to vet everyone who tries to follow you.
I have the same name on Twitter as on here so I'd happily accept your follow!

Twitter is great and Twitter is terrible. I got into it mostly for following sports, ended up becoming friends with people who I first interacted with online (nothing seedy, rugby fans I'd end up seeing at games mostly) and have a 2nd account for more work related stuff now too.
But yeah, as above, you'll get followed by some random spammy accounts, I tend to just ignore them, if they are particularly vile or irritating I block them.

I find it best to not use the twitter app on phone/tablet, or even the main Twitter site in a web browser, they seem intent on sticking ad type tweets and 'related content' in more and more these days, which seems to be lessened by using 3rd party apps.
On my computer I use Tweetdeck(not really 3rd party but seems to do the trick stil) and on Android I use Fenix.

The initial challenge is definitely finding worthwhile people to follow though. Have followed some people because I've liked them as athletes or for the films/tv shows they've been part of or something then decided I didn't like what I saw of their personality on twitter and stopped....
