For those who don't know what the movie is. It is about a airline pilot that is an alcoholic and drug addict who flys a plane which then suffered a failure with its elevator. The plane noses dives and the pilot saves it with a small lost of 6 people out of 102.
I will leave it there as there is more to the film and don't wish to spoil it if anyone watches.

Great movie and well worth the watch.

As a person who wishes to be a commercial pilot i don't know where to put my self. Be worried that this happens or that i may become a person who could if need be have the ability to save peoples lives but not exactly drunk and high. 6 and two 3's i guess.
I would hate to be put in the same situation.
I feel proud of the pilot in this film but also disappointed later on.
The sad thing is this did happen to an Alaska Airlines Flight 261 however sadly the pilots did not save the aircraft and all on board perished. Same circumstances. Not sure if this is where the idea came from.

Anyhow great movie and you should have a watch if you get a chance.

I saw it a couple of days ago and it kicked me off onto a Denzel movie watching rampage ;)

I don't want to spoiler anything, but just to say that I enjoyed it, but the latter parts were pretty depressing.

I'd give it 7/10 cakes :hungry:

I've just got off a flight where absolutely nothing exciting happened. I'm expecting to take 2 more tomorrow with the same outcome.

I think that was "All black people look the same" hilarity.
It's more their kindred dry monotone delivery I was thinking of. Denzel Washington in fear of of his life sounds about as energetic as Morgan Freeman discussing boredom in a Valium clinic. Even Roger more used more facial expression. Travolta acted rings round him in Pelham, As did Crowe in American Gamgster. He only really shines when there's not a better actor on the same screen.

He's apparently not a very nice person:

The Wall Street Journal: Were you serious or joking when you said Tom Cruise made “constant unrelated homophobic comments” while on the “Risky Business” set?

Pinchot: The context of the question was, “how did he strike me as a person” at a point in his career when he was a virtual unknown. And my answer was that, coming straight out of the world of theater, as essentially all the supporting male actors did, where homophobic language was not heard, I remember thinking his use of it was remarkable and excessive; however, it is also true to say, in hindsight, that for a 20 year-old with no background in theater, such language is actually unremarkable. Which I did not know at 23.

What about the remark that Denzel Washington is one of the most unpleasant people you’ve met?

I regret my choice of words there, and would like to amend my statement by saying I found his willingness to be ungenerous, unkind, knowingly hurtful both mentally and physically to myself and the crew to be the saddest misuse of stardom I have ever experienced or hope to experience.
