Issac Asimov (think it was him) once said "If we can imagine it; then it can become a reality."
Which I suppose means what we create via a movie etc, will one day become reality. Will time travel ever be a reality though? That one just goes round in circles IF this is the first time around of course. What will become of incomes with mechanisation/automation doing away with the need for real peeps. Will artificial intelligence (walking talking android) be created properly, and if so why? Military/exploration tasks not withstanding.
Seen so many things happen right now that just a few years ago were laughable to consider. I guess travel will become much faster. Will for example taking a holiday be jetless? Will you just go to a place, and step into a machine and have your matter transported just as easily as radio waves are transported?
Will hunger and growth in populace lead to war about food? If so, does that mean the end is nigh; said the sandwich board man
I find myself thinking that things must surely slow down a bit, but will they? Technology creates technology, and so on. Will the pace just run away with itself now? 'They' suggest individual age will have increased to around 150 years in a century or so. Thing is unless they invent some wonder treatment which keeps this carcass we live in a fit and useful entity, I'd personally NEVER want to be 150! Will they do head transplants as has been suggested. But, better still will they … could they ever take out what is you and pop it into another body? That would be interesting.
I see there is even a Cyberdine systems out there now; probably been around for a while.
If they cure cancer, heart and respiratory disease, what replaces it and why does it stay dormant until ready to pop?
Hmmmm.
