Ive narrowed my choices down to the last 2.

Cube Agree GTC Pro - £1499

http://www.thebigadventurestore.com/cube-agree-gtc-pro-compact-2009-887-p.asp

or

Giant TCR Advanced 3 - £1600

http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-GB/bikes/road/2421/32350/

So i went to my LBS to look over both of them and finalise my order.

BUT he showed me another bike he thought i may be interested in.

Wilier Mortirolo Centaur - £1799

http://www.wilier.it/files/images/Catalogo_09/grandi/mortirolo_lampre_lg.jpg

Does anyone have any last opinions before i choose one?

Thanks all ;)

Sorry to disappoint and to confuse you further, but if I had between 1500-1800 to spend it would not be on any of those.

Sorry.

I realise this may not be what you want to hear.

Noodley - I want to hear everyones opinions, each to their own. Id imagine you know a hell of a'lot more about road bikes than me, hence it being myself asking the question and not you.

What would you recommend for the money?

My LBS who i am using CTW scheme through stock- Specialized/Giant/Trek/Cannondale/Cube/and Wilier

To be perfectly honest id much rather spend nearer £1500 but my max budget is £1800 if needs be.

Im after comfort (arent we all), and to stand up to the job of many miles and hopefully races.

Thanks

Ribble, wiggle...

Planet X...

There have been some big price increases across many 'big' names (Bianchi, Spesh, Cannondale, Giant) which used to be good(ish) value, and 'new' names.

I would agree that ribble, wiggle and planet x were worth a look.

It's a lot of money you are going to spend. Rather than getting an 'off the shelf' maybe ask on the forum and spec a bike yourself? It's not too difficult and you can get a bike shop (or someone else) to build it. Seriously.

Sorry Dan, I didn;t mean to come across as arsey. I obviously failed ;);)

I always remember the advice I was given a few years ago on the C+ website when I was looking to spending what for me was a lot of money on a bike:

Find out what you want/need, find what you like then buy the best you can afford.

For me than meant a road bike, Bianchi, and trading up from 9 speed Xenon to 10 speed Veloce.

I just do not want you to get the wrong bike for you for lack of choice.

Tricky.
Without bringing other options into the equation, I would... shortlist the Giant and the Wilier and ride them both until I knew which I preffered. The Wilier is the sexier option, but the giant is possibly probably the better bike all round, however, as I stated earlier I would save the difference in cost to put to a lighter set of wheels on for next spring.
They'rs nothing wrong with any of them.

It's a lot of money to be changing to a lighter set of wheels...which will cost a few 100!

Agreed, the Wilier is sexier. Agreed the Giant is 'better'.
And I like Cube MTBs, but I do not know about their road bikes - they seem to have 'ok' components but nothing special.

But I don't feel any of them is the best option.

I just feel there is better out there...

Doesn't really matter which one you get, you'll still think "what if I got one of the others?" You'll be satisfied with any of them, I reckon and you're probably only talking about minor differences so don't let them bother you and be happy with what you've got.

The cube looks alright, but a bit graphic happy for me, but it does come with Ultegra srtuff.

Any bike at that price will be good, and give you what you want. I would go ~Giant, but i ride a TCR anyway so you could say i'm biased ;)

Any chance you can get a rid on one of the bikes you like the look of? For me, at that price, its a bit like just picking the one you like the colour of, as the specs and quality of the bikes is all very good.

I agree with Paul and Steve and MY preference would be for the Willier.
After some riding seasons/ years, and, as you get to know your bike, the money aspect will not be so strong - like anything - and the famous 'bikes (n+1) theory will prevail.;)

Have fun - and get on that Willier ;)

Works every time though...

+1 to last few posts, if you have not ridden them all you may well wonder what they would have been like... but any of those bikes would make most people as happy as a pig in Sh*t.

Good luck....

personally, out of those, i like the look of the cube better.
But like PaulB says you'll be happy with either.
