I've got an old TV that's still in OK nick - splurged on a new LED number so need to get rid. Would be a shame to just take it down the tip.

It's an old-skool CRT TV - model number JVC 28T55EKS - so pretty bulky and heavy, so if you're able to collect from Charlton, you can have it. The stand is included.

the crt tvs are bloody worthless now,, ebay is awash with them and no takers, flat screens are so cheap and superior now that the very idea of a crt of comparable screen size is literally laughable, taking up all that space and making heat and dust

I got shot of my last one by giving it free to some poor rellies with no telly

I quite agree about the tip shame

i took my sony crt to the tip, telling the bloke it was still working (just done the led thing myself), expecting him to be able to sell it on. he told me it was just scrap and it was a shame to see it chucked onto a pile of other crt tellies and monitors.

Book into a hotel somewhere and throw it out of the window.

Someone dumped a CVT telly in the back end of a yard I used to deliver stuff to. One day when there was no one around, I found a large lump of metal and lobbed it through the screen. It took two or three goes, but when it finally shattered it went with one hell of a satisfying bang.
