so, this computer has Kaspersky, which I wouldn't have bought, following the struggle with the .dmp files that filled a hard disc, but, wtf, it's up for renewal, so I part with 51 sovs for 24 months and a back up disk.
And guess what. The activation code doesn't work. So I ring Kaspersky and speak to Tom Evershed who has no clue, so he suggests completely uninstalling the existing version and starting again, and he'll send me a fix that will make sure of it............
So I uninstall the old version, and wait for Tom's fix, which doesn't come, so after three hours and then some waiting around on the phone at heaven knows what cost I speak to him again, and he's forgotten all about it, but said his computer had fallen apart on him, and he'll send me the fix and in the mean time try this...which I do but it doesn't work, and he sends me an e-mail to confirm his address, and I send him an e-mail and he has evidently gone home, so my poor computer is sitting, naked, awaiting the arrival of the Trojan hordes, so I grab a thirty day trial of BitDefender which installs itself with the minimum of fuss.
And if the disk doesn't arrive tomorrow I'll have learnt a lesson, and I'll ring up the wretched Kaspersky and ask for my money back, accompanying that with my standard question 'now, can you tell me one thing that you've done right?' Which, thus far, they haven't.
Thankyou for reading this.........
