Yes okay there are not many but yesterday I had one.

Knackered last mile of commute home into the wind downhill and a 4 by 4 over took me in a 30mph zone.
He slowed to 30 mph and allowed me to catch up and he stayed at 30mph all the way. I was hardly peddling.

Now was he a cyclist or what?

He could clearly see me in his mirror with all my lights and loud windproof on.

I think he felt guilty when he had to turn off.

Do we do that for other bike bods?

I am sorry but you appear to have broken one of the forums golden rules.

It is not acceptable to suggest that car drivers can sometimes be considerate towards cyclists and you should be aware of this. To suggest that 4x4 drivers are anything other than aggresive lunatics is proposterous and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I hope that you shook your fist at him to let him know how displeased you were that he he patronised you in this manner.

....ok I am sorry.
I am shamed and now humiliated for even thinking such thoughts

The last driver to go well above and beyond considerate driving that I saw was also a 4x4 driver (well excluding the motorcyclist that shouted out that I was really shifting

). It was a Big BMW one too... that really scrambled my mind! - Not all of 'em are bad when you really consider things.

Its all lies I tell you.

I have a 4x4 and I spend my evenings out tailgating other motorists and making close passes to cyclists.

And, I never spent last winter towing people out of snow drifts and ditches.

That's great! I'd say your man was a cyclist, or at least someone with a knowledge of cycling. For the full experience, you should have pulled up the window for a sticky bidon!
