Americans. We took a dozen of them on a field school to Ireland, and they had to take it in turns to get up early to make the sandwiches for our packed lunch. Questions included "Do you butter both pieces of bread?"...
We made the mistake of leaving one pair unsupervised, and got nothing but peanut-butter-and-jam...
It's amazing how much we take for granted the mantras "Cheese and pickle", "Ham and Mustard", "Tuna and Mayonnaise".
Oh, and English mustard, that was fun. They thought it was like American until they took the first bite of a ham and mustard with the mustard spread on thick.
And Marmite! That was always funny, watching them try Marmite...
