Koga Miyata - Bottle cage holders?

Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of specing up my ideal tourer for next year....and decided that I NEED a koga miyata.

I'm going to get a singnature with alfine 11 and 700c wheels etc.. etc - the list goes on.

One questions which you may be able to answer :

How many bottle cage holders does it come with - every photo only shows it with 2 in the frame. I'd idealy like one on the underside of the downtube which could be used for storing a meths bottle, for those cold nights ;-)

If any owners out there could help that would be great.

When we were looking to make the same decision I came across this site which shows the Koga Miyata World Traveller Signature with 3 bottles on it, so I guess it is possible.

I have a KM World Tarveller. It has a third set underneath.

thanks for the replies. I've been in touch with cycle sense today - and placed my order!!

I'll post a picture when it gets here... Christmas will be coming a little bit late for me this year - but it'll be worth the wait.

I've seen this link, but liked the simpleness of yours, but looks like the bike buddy will be the way forward - does the job and is very secure.

The final order went it today for the bike. I'm very excited - will be 6 weeks plus delivery plus Christmas delays etc - so should be here for the end of Feb beginning of March - just in time for a short trip that I'm planning.

It's first outing will be with my 2 1/2 year old son - I'm taking the boat to Catreret and will meander down the coast to Granville to get a boat home. No camping for that trip - just a quick B&B stop in Lessay for the night. He'll be on back in his trailer.

The 'main' trip for the summer is the Loire - an area I've visited many times, but not on the bike - planning is very early stage - but generally to start in Orleans and finish at St Brevin Les Pins (the Atlantic Coast).

PS - Your bike's name is excellent ;-) Mine is just to have my name! I like the ideas - but not brave enough to look at the wrong thing for the next umpteen years. I know - Boring.

Dont Know what a Koga Miyata is but you might be interested in this picture. I made it to carry enough water for an overnight stop.

Hi:

I have a 3 month old Koga Signature. The bike has room for 3 water bottles although I use the downtube attachment for a pump. See attached photo.

I ordered mine with a Rohloff hub. Always wanted to own a Rohloff and the Alfine 11 was not available at the time I ordered.

I really enjoy the bike and the Rohloff. Good luck with your Koga and let me know what you think of the Alfine 11.
