My favourite Grand Tour so thought we ought to have a new thread.

It does appear to be another Visma vs UAE battle but there's some big names coming so ought to be some interesting stages.
Start List. One of the smaller teams is called BURGOS-BURPELLET.^_^
Most of the stages appear to be in the north. I wonder if that's a response to climate change?

I'm almost sorry that Vingegaard is doing it. Nothing against him, but he's as hot a favourite as Pog is in the Tour.
Without him it would be an open free-for-all.
Ayuso, Almeida, Tiberi, Carapaz, Jorgenson(?), Skelmose(?), Bernal (?).

Could be an intriguing test for Almeida to see how close he can get to or stay with Vingegaard when he doesn't have to work for anyone else. Vingegaard will most likely win, but I agree the rest is completely open.

Not a lot of flat road ... Very hard to control race by the parcours .... Look out for Ben O'Connor style moves ..there's a lot of opportunities

Jonas is in shape it's hard to see past him .
And is it your intention that this should be the no-spoilers thread?

I'm sticking spoilers in here

This could be a very Danish affair, btw.
Aside from Vingegaard being the massive favourite, Mads P is rested up and ready to try and grab a bunch of stages. He's racing the Tour of Denmark at the mo, but other than tha Copenhagen Sprint and the nat champs (won the ITT jersey) he hasn't raced since the Giro. He wants to go to the Euros for the ITT as well, so count on him doing a decent effort on stage 5. Looking at the first week it's conceivable he could try for the maillot rojo and hold it until stage 6, then try and consolidate for the points jersey. Pretty much a Giro opening week repeat.

On Vingegaard - it's well known I'm a fan, but while I can see people wanting a proper battle rather than the walkover everyone is expecting, I won't begrudge him it if he destroys the peloton. He's the been the only rider that's pushed Pog in stage races the last few years and I feel like he deserves some reward for that effort. Plus he gave up a Vuelta for Kuss, so I reckon he ought to get his own now.

Looking forward to it. Team Time Trial on stage 5. I like watching those. Great to see teams working well together. Ever better watching them make a complete horlicks of it. Even though they are tough on the plucky hopeful riders from weaker teams.

Btw Spoilers don't bother me in the slightest, but if we don't have a spoiler warning in the title there will be endless distracting bitching and complaining.
