Ladies wanted to chat about cycling

Blimey, turns out I can't do tonight - will only be home after 10pm. Shame. Maybe next time - or maybe the idea of meeting up in London for a chat will come back to life?

Sounds like a good idea, but then again are there enough takers? Shecycles sort of disappeared, although I'm not sure why, and there is already female groups on some of the forums and lots of newsletters, like shespoke etc. And then there is always Team Estrogen - although mainly American, it does pull quite a few others in as well, so I'm not sure if there is enough critical mass for anything else, although more choice is always good!

What happened to the original is they stopped running it but left it up as it was just a drain on resources, due to the low numbers using it advertiserments were hard to get. For some reason they pulled it suddenly, hence we set up our own forum!

It works now as it doesn't matter if the numbers are low, which I suspect they always will be. Shecycles.com had a big company and did a lot of promotion and still it was a small forum! At the end of the day women who cycle are a minority compared to the number of men!

I did say that I stood to be corrected! I think you're right Summerdays, but I also think I'm right about the outcome of that discussion.

This snap-shot is before CC filled-up, but as it did the Women's forum didn't seem to get very much traffic.

I asked the ladies of the forum if they wanted to keep the separate Women's forum, and at the time they voted no, so I merged all the threads with the other forums and that was that. (I think the general consensus was that there aren't very many cycling topics that are women specific.)

That being said, we have a much bigger female posse on CC now so the general consensus may be different.
