So the Langster has a great reputation. The specs quote 'track geometry screams on the street'. What exactly does that mean? What should I expect of the handling if I buy one? How will it be different from normal road bike handling? Thanks . . . .

Marketing B******t ?

I've got a 2007 as my day to day commute/leisure/chores bike. I've done many miles on it. I've also got a a Roubaix Pro as my road bike. In terms of handling I can't really feel that much of a difference, both are responsive and corner on rails, the Roubaix is possibly a bit more assured. Major difference is the Langster is an aluminium frame so a bit more road noise comes thru.

i think the fitting of the frame is the main thing. a track bike will have a lower front end ie the bars fitting will be lower so you are leant over more where as a frame such as charge plug 1 or 2 you will have a higher front end so you are sitting more up right.

i think anyway lol

I dont know if it is still the case for the 2015 bikes but in the past the langster geometry was more orientated for the road than the track so it should be able to handle fine on the road.

As mangid said it's just marketing hype to give it a bit of street cred. Check the wheelbase, if it's shorter than your road bike chances are it will be more twitchy.

Had a 2008 langster in which the frame was changed for a 2012 (cracked it) . In my mind I think they geo changed, certainly felt like it. It's my winter crap weather bike but find it as quick and nimble as my full on carbon £2.5k bike.
