Laptop contrast

The contrast on my laptop has gone squiffy. I can no longer make out anything but the heaviest shades of grey.

I dont think that there is a facility to adjust the contrast on the laptop, so what has happened?

(altering the brightness doesn't help)

Try going through Display properties menu Advanced.

Have you checked the keys, usually printed in blue for a contrast symbol (half shaded circle) - Use FN and the key to change ?

Other than that it might be buggered.

Look carefully at the screen before it boots into windows - might be hard to tell if you only have B&W text but if it looks dodgy there, the screen is giving up. If it only looks dodgy once windows has booted then it's possibly just a driver issue.

Dunno what was wrong; a reboot fixed it though.

It's a Toshiba Satelite L650...but it seems to be working just fine now
