Laptop playing up - advice please

I made a cock up the other day when on my laptop and it closed down. I now find I have to log into every site rather than remembering me as it usually does, and that my toolbars don't work properly, including the 'back one page' function.

It's probably easy to fix but I am clueless - anyone able to offer advice? I recall someone mentioning "Cookies" a good while ago, and I think it related to something similar to what I have encountered, but I don't know much about what they are and where to find them if that is what I need to do

Delete cookies for a single site

To delete cookies for one site:

1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Tools menu, and select Options...​
2. Select the Privacy panel.
3. Click "Show Cookies" The Cookies window will appear.
4. In the Search: field, type the name of the site whose cookies you want to remove. The cookies that match your search will be displayed.
5. Select the cookie(s) in the list to remove and click
   Remove Cookie.​
   • Select the first cookie and press Shift+End to select all the cookies in the list.
6. Click Close to close the Cookies window.​
7. Click OK to close the Options window​
