I suspect it'll be years before anything is released, if at all. You just have to look at the time its taking the likes of Garmin and Brim Brothers to get something that works and (crucially) is robust and reliable.

One thought that occurs to me is what effect uneven road surfaces would have. And how would they account for different tyres and tyres pressures?

I hope it works and I hope it truly is an affordable option. All the pedal based systems are looking like being as expensive if not more expensive than PowerTaps despite the earlier claims that they'd be delivering something that is affordable to the masses.
